The Dreaming.

I deeply relished the spirit of earnest pretentiousness — John Cremer (The Maydays)

The Dreaming are officially, and without a shadow of a doubt, my current fave improv troupe — Rebecca MacMillan (The Maydays)

We do Organic Improv: sound-and-motion/mirroring that fluidly transitions in and out of talking scenes. Joe plays avant-garde music over the sound-and-motion scenes to inspire us. This creates a somewhat dream-like show, which we loosely bind together with a theme we develop from the audience suggestion.

The conceit of performance art, pretentiousness, and being contemptuous of the audience, is mostly tongue-in-cheek. But we commit seriously to the sound-and-motion rather than mugging it for laughs. The effect is joyful, playful, and comic.

The Roof Raiser Award: The Dreaming. This is a really incredible show. Two people (Alex Fradera and John Agapiou) with the most big and physical improv show I have ever seen. Incredibly funny and gripping and PASSIONATE! Hoopla Improv Marathon

Current show: Remains

In 2024 The Dreaming. began touring this interactive piece . Remains begins by coaxing an audience concept that simultaneously spawns the performed dynamic and autogenerates as a physical artifact, via the medium of an online commerce platform.

Contemplacenta: An “avant-garde art collective” who use improvisation to “channel the Jungian skein” to create “a fluid revery”, in which “the audience is complicit”. No, we’ve no idea what they mean either. Laughably earnest, faux-pretentious improv comedy.
